VOLUNTEERS WANTED 

FOR THE 

BSMT’S 50^TH BIRTHDAY!

We are looking for volunteers to help organise and run a planned event on Saturday 13th September 2008 to celebrate the BSMT’s 50^th birthday and the 40^th anniversary of Juliette Alvin starting the first music therapy post-graduate course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London.  

Professor Leslie Bunt, a previous BSMT Chair, is inviting music therapists to play in an orchestral concert when the main works will be Haydn’s C major Cello Concerto with soloist Deirdre Bencsik and Beethoven’s ‘Emperor’ concerto played by Professor Malcolm Troup who was Head of Music at the Guildhall during Juliette’s time before moving to City University.  Other music therapists will be providing different kinds of musical entertainment during other events during the day. The event is to be held at St Luke’s in Old Street, Barbican, London.

 We are looking for volunteers to work on a subcommittee to

·        Plan promotion of the event

·        Oversee the organisation of the event

 If you have

·        Enthusiasm

·        Experience in events planning, PR or communications

·        A wish to support Music Therapy in the UK
